Prim is an enjoyable new point and click adventure that is dark and quirky and funny in equal measures, in a similar vein to the Addams Family. It's well-made and looks fantastic.
Aesthetics
Prim is beautiful and detailed - and impressively so, given the black and white monochrome palette. The characters are a little simpler but they fit right in. The whole game's polished to a high shine. There are also lots of nice little "extra touches" in the form of books, maps, and so on, which add visual interest and help boost the level of interactivity. The soundtrack is fitting and the voice actors have all done a fantastic job.
Gameplay
Prim plays like any other modern point and click, although they've kept it simple - left click will either look or interact as appropriate and that's all you have to worry about. The game's story-driven rather than puzzle-driven but the devs have still managed to squeeze in a good range of puzzles, both the usual (inventory combos, logic puzzles), and a few unusual ones. There's a little bit of sleuthing, some layered perception, whack-a-mole, classification, really some great variety. And no moon logic or pixel hunting.
Verdict
Prim is a high quality point and click experience. It looks and sounds fantastic, has a great sense of humour, good range of puzzles, solid story. It's really a solid experience all round.
